This cute book teaches children about simple shapes and how you can make objects using them through the use of cookie dough. With its adorable illustrations, this book would be great for reading with your kids when snuggling up for bedtime or on a weekend when you decide to do some baking with your little ones. I'm sure this book would prompt you to do baking with your kids(plan some time accordingly!). If your child loves baking or if you are doing it for the first time with them, this would be a good book to start with. Also, baking is a fun activity to do with your kids. It teaches them some basic cooking skills. My kids love making the cookie dough or mixing the cake batter. It just gets a little messy after, but they are ready to help in the cleanup. Just we need to set some time for the activity and clean up after. It is also a low-sensory activity for toddlers and preschoolers and helps improve their fine motor skills. During a summer visit to the library, we stumbled upon this book and we enjoyed reading this together. We also discovered that it features a simple recipe with only 5 ingredients for sugar cookies and a 2 ingredient recipe for icing! My kids were super excited to do the sugar cookies after we read the book. And we all had a fun time making cookies and eating them. All these simple pleasures and fun activities that we do with our kids will make them happy and help create lifelong memories for them!!
I would totally recommend this book as it combines a fun activity to do with your family along with Reading!! Children of all ages including very young readers to upper elementary kids(for the baking activity) would love this book.
