Hello World!

Updated: Apr 3, 2023

Here goes the first post of my blog! We read a lot of books over the summer vacation last year and here is the first list of books that we would like to recommend to our readers! If you get a chance don't miss to check these books in your local library or stores.

The first list goes to very young readers, especially those aged 2-4 years. My older one who goes to elementary school also loves to read these books with her little sister. These are a set of very cute and cuddly books that will bring all the warmth and joy of parenting. Best for bedtime reading or any time of the day to get some quiet, screen-free time with kids. We read these books over and over again just to enjoy their cute illustrations and have some funny moments with both the kids.

Here goes the first book, "Now I'm Big" from one of my favorite children's authors, Karen Katz!!

I'm a big fan of Karen Katz's books! They have very cute illustrations. Simple yet very attractive and easy to read for very young learners. One of the best board books for very young readers. the pictures say it all and my little one simply loved this book and read it so many times over and over with me. She can't read the words yet but could understand everything from the pictures. This book shows the various stages of a baby growing up and then slowly graduating to be a big sister, who then takes care of her new baby sister. I totally recommend reading this book to learn about sibling love and care(#siblinglove). It would be great to read with your older kid when you are expecting another new baby in the family(#family #newbaby). A perfect book to cuddle up and read with your kids and share some fun memories of growing up along the way!! This book indeed celebrates all the special things that only big kids can do! Other books by this author in this genre include Mommy hugs and Daddy hugs. This board book is perfect for kids aged 2-4 years(#toddlers #preschoolers #boardbooks).

Who's hiding in the rainforest? - Katharine McEwen

Is your little one an animal lover who enjoys learning about them? Do you often visit the zoo to meet furry friends? Are you ready to explore the rainforests today with your kids?

Then look no further, this book by Katharine McEwen is the best pick for you!

This is such a fun book to learn about rainforest animals and interesting facts about them. My little one loves to play peekaboo and find what animal is hiding under the flaps(#lifttheflapbooks). The illustrations are perfect too. This is a perfect book for preschoolers and kindergartners to get to know what are rainforests and which animals live there(#rainforestanimals #animalfacts). You can find fun facts about sloths, anacondas, armadillos, jaguars, and other amazing animals and birds that inhabit the rainforests. Parents can further discuss these animals with their kids and help them to find more facts. It would be a fun and interesting conversation to have over the dinner table or during a trip to the zoo. With older kids, we can even talk to them about various animal habitats and ecological systems. (Also can play some games: kids can be encouraged to research about the animals and prepare a quiz, and flashcards and ask friends and family to participate)

My next book recommendation is "I Calm Down" by Cheri J.Meiners and illustrated by Penny Weber

"I Calm Down" is one of the books in the Learning About Me and You early social skills series published by free spirit publishing. This is a book that teaches children how to deal with their big feelings like anger and worry. Strategies like breathing and asking for help or a hug are so useful. There is also a list of tips and activities that can be good reminders for parents to help their kids feel calm. There is also a link mentioned in the book for any additional ideas or resources. I found it very useful and I recommend it to parents who want to help their kids work through strong emotions.
