February is round the corner and it is that month when we celebrate all the loved ones in our lives!!❤️ It is already one month past in 2024! I can't believe we are already into the second month of the year!!
February has many special features in a month I believe. One important day is Valentine's day and the other special thing is it is the month that decides whether a year is LEAP or not.
And this year happens to be a leap year!!
But Valentine's day seems to steal the show more than the other part of the month I guess.:). Kids have some activities planned at school and started planning ideas for making cards and gifts to share with their friends at school. So this time I thought why don't we make some Origami Hearts(#OrigamiHearts) and share a sweet message inside for their friends to read. I think it would be a great idea to learn this paper craft. So we spent some time learning and making Origami this weekend.(#Valentine's day kids crafts)
Origami is an ancient visual art form. It is the Japanese art of paper folding. The word Origami comes from the Japanese word "Ori" meaning "folding" and "kami" meaning "paper". It involves intricate art of folding paper to transform a flat sheet into a 3 dimensional sculpture.
It is a relaxing and stress relieving activity for kids. It can be a good rainy and cold winter day activity. Quiet time for parents when they are engrossed making this craft. I absolutely loved this art form.❤️
Thanks to the Origami set from Joycat which included an instruction booklet and very good quality Origami sheets. I totally recommend this product for learning Art of Origami! This can also be a cute gift idea for kids. You can buy this from Amazon or any other good Origami sheet that you prefer is also good.
You can also make your own sheets with 6X6 inches cut paper. This is usually the standard size. This is the only supply you need for this project(the paper size can also vary from 1x1 to 10x10 inches or more). So, Grab a sheet of paper and start folding right away !!:)
Here are the steps to make your own Origami hearts!!
It is a quick and easy craft activity that you can do with your kids and am sure they will enjoy doing this a lot! So please do this with your kids and share your creations and feedback here!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
Happy Crafting!!😊
